Performance (alternative) solution will be the official name from 1st May 2016. The performance solution report is an important part of a building design and construction. An appropriate performance solution is given the same weight as deemed to satisfy provisions of the BCA.
What is most important though is to make sure the expert authoring the report is able to write a comprehensive and cogent argument centering on the relevant performance requirement.
The Certifying Authority should not accept a performance report that does not provide a good argument on its merit. A one sentence argument that starts with βIn my opinion β¦.. β is just not good enough.
As a general guide a fully accredited member of ACAA should be expert enough to provide a well-reasoned performance solution report.
An accredited access consultant has the ability to look at AS1428 compliance problems from a deep functional knowledge of Codes and Standards, as well as awareness of International Standards.
MGAC has 4 fully accredited access consultants. What I like about our team is that we have the ability to look at a problem in a variety of ways due to the broad range of skills we have within our team that includes architects, law, builders, civil engineers and interior designers, all experts in access and DDA matters.
